Service:

The Taxi Users' Subsidy Scheme (TUSS) provides taxi travel at a reduced rate for people who have a severe permanent disability that will always prevent them from using a conventional public transport bus service.

  • Most members are entitled to a 50% subsidy, up to a maximum of $25 for each single trip.

  • Members who use a wheelchair or scooter may be entitled to a 75% subsidy, up to a maximum of $35 for each single trip.


Eligibility

To be eligible for a subsidy you must:

  • be a permanent resident of Western Australia. Proof of residency is required, for example:

    • a copy of a pension card,

    • a driver's licence or

    • a residency visa. If a residency visa is provided please also provide a copy of a recent utility bill; and



  • have a severe permanent disability that will always prevent you using a conventional public transport bus service; and


The disability is required to be continual and fall within the specified categories of:

  • severe mobility disability;

  • severe vision disability (legal blindness); and

  • severe cognitive/intellectual disability.
